SEBASTIAN POCOGNOLI TAKES OVER MONACO

French Ligue 1 club Monaco appointed Sebastien Pocognoli as their new head coach on Saturday following the surprise sacking of Adi Huetter during the week.
The 38-year-old Pocognoli led Union Saint-Gilloise to the Belgian title last season, with Monaco three points off the top of Ligue 1 and with a point from two Champions League games.

"Sebastien Pocognoli joins Monaco following a very successful stint in the Belgian Pro League with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, where he excelled by matching good results with a dynamic and appealing style of play," Monaco announced in a statement.
Pocognoli led Union SG to their first league title in 90 years, beating Club Brugge.
Pocognoli's first game as a manager will be a league trip to Angers in a week, and then hosting Tottenham four days later in the Champions League.

Austrian Huetter was sacked on Thursday following a run of just one win in five matches.
