Nominated Senator Hezena Lemaletian has obtained temporary court orders barring her former boyfriend, Musa Hussein Lenyumpa, from assaulting, threatening, harassing, or interfering with her well-being. The orders also prohibit him from using her name, image, or likeness for personal or commercial gain, publishing information about her, or accessing her home and workplace.
Through her lawyer Danstan Omari, Lemaletian told the court the relationship was part of a Samburu customary courtship which she later revoked, noting no dowry was paid. She said she returned the Ksh 100,000 “ropiyani e loip” token in full. The senator accuses Musa of issuing death threats, physically assaulting her—causing a nosebleed—and spreading false claims online that they are married, damaging her safety, privacy, and political image.
The matter will be heard inter partes on September 22, 2025, to determine whether the restraining orders should be extended or altered.
