SIMONE INZAGHI EXITS INTER MILAN DAYS AFTER PSG DEFEAT

Inter Milan coach and manager, Simone Inzaghi has declared his departure from the team three days after their 5-0 Champions League final defeat to Paris St-Germain.

The 49-year-old, Inzaghi, who joined Inter in 2021, winning six trophies , has been affiliated with Al-Hilal, a Saudi Arabian based football club.

"The time has come for me to say goodbye to this club after a four-year journey, during which I gave everything," said Inzaghi in an emotional tone

"I want to dedicate one last word to the millions of Nerazzurri (Inter) fans who cheered me on, cried and suffered in difficult moments and laughed and celebrated in the six triumphs we experienced together, I will never forget you," he added.

This announcement follows a Tuesday board meeting between Inzaghi and Inter officials .

"The club and Simone Inzaghi are parting ways,this is the decision taken by mutual agreement," a statement from the management said.

Inter president Giuseppe Marotta furthered stating; "I would like to thank Simone Inzaghi for the work done, for the passion shown and also for the sincerity in the discussion that led to the common decision to separate our paths."

"Only when we have fought together to achieve success day by day, can we have a frank dialogue like the one that happened," Marotta continued, maintaining Inzaghi's good will departure.

Inzaghi led the Italian Giants in winning one Serie A title, two Coppa Italias and three Supercoppa Italia.

He also guided the Owners of the San Siro into two Champions League final, losing 1-0 to Manchester City in 2022-23 and the most recent 5-0 defeat against PSG on Saturday.,31, May.

They also found it rough missing out on the 2024-25 Serie A title by a point to Napoli.
