Six people have died after a lorry ferrying scrap metal ploughed into pedestrians at a bus stop along the Kericho–Kisumu Highway on Tuesday September 16, 2025, night.
According to police, four victims were killed on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries at Kericho County Hospital. Four more people were seriously injured and are receiving treatment.
The truck, which was heading towards Kisumu, veered off the road near Kipsitet at around 10 p.m. Investigators are examining whether brake failure or driver fatigue caused the crash.
