SIX SUSPECTS ARRESTED AS POLICE INTERCEPT LARGE BHANG SHIPMENT IN MWIKI, EMBAKASI

Police in Mwiki, Embakasi, have arrested six suspects and seized a significant quantity of bhang in a well-coordinated operation aimed at curbing drug trafficking in the area. The bust, which took place late Saturday night, followed a tip-off from members of the public, leading officers to a house where the illegal consignment was being stored.

According to authorities, the bhang was concealed in sacks and disguised as farm produce, possibly in an attempt to evade detection. "We have been tracking this operation for a while, and last night’s raid was a major breakthrough," said a senior police officer.

The suspects, who are currently in police custody, are expected to be arraigned in court soon. Investigators believe the network could be part of a larger drug syndicate operating within Nairobi and its outskirts.

Residents have lauded the police for the successful operation, urging them to continue cracking down on illicit drugs that have been affecting the youth in the community. "We have seen many young people falling into drug abuse, and we hope this will serve as a warning to those involved in the trade," said a local resident.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to fighting drug-related crimes and have warned that more operations will be conducted to dismantle such networks.
