TREASURY CS ANNOUNCES ALLOCATION OF KSH204 BILLION FOR UHC

In a landmark move aimed at transforming Kenya’s healthcare landscape, Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has announced a significant allocation of Ksh 204 billion in the 2025/26 financial year to support the government’s push for universal health coverage (UHC). The Ksh 204 billion allocation marks one of the largest budgetary commitments to the health sector in Kenya’s history and supports President William Ruto’s administration’s broader health reform agenda and aligns with Kenya’s Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3, which calls for ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.

 He reassured that the Treasury would work closely with the Ministry of Health, county governments, and development partners to ensure efficient and transparent utilization of the funds. He further emphasized that the government remains committed to ensuring that every Kenyan has access to affordable, quality healthcare without suffering financial hardship.
