TRUMP SLAMS MEDIA AFTER MURDER OF UKRAINIAN REFUGEE IN US

US President Donald Trump has launched fresh attacks on the media following the murder of 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Zarutska, who fled Ukraine after Russia’s invasion, was fatally stabbed aboard a light rail train on September 8. Police have charged 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr., described as a repeat offender with a history of mental illness, with first-degree murder. He is currently undergoing psychiatric evaluation.
Trump criticized news outlets for what he called a deliberate downplaying of the killing, accusing them of failing to give the tragedy the coverage it deserved. He used the incident to renew calls for a nationwide crackdown on violent crime, particularly in Democratic-led cities, and questioned why Brown had been previously released on bail.
“This horrific killing of a young refugee who escaped war only to be murdered on American soil should be front-page news everywhere,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account, while demanding tougher policies against what he termed “career criminals.”
The murder has reignited political debate over bail reforms, public safety, and the handling of repeat offenders in the US justice system.
