UBER LAUNCHES SAFARI RIDES IN NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK

Uber has rolled out a new service, Uber Safari, allowing users to book guided wildlife drives inside Nairobi National Park directly through the ride-hailing app.
The service offers three-hour daytime or night game drives, which must be booked between two and 90 days in advance. Day safaris cost KSh25,000 per vehicle for up to seven passengers, while night safaris are priced at KSh40,000 for a maximum of five passengers.
According to Uber, the fare covers the vehicle, a licensed safari guide and—on night drives—a Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) warden. Standard park entry fees remain separate and are payable by each visitor.
The company has partnered with the Ministry of Tourism, Kenya Wildlife Service, Tourism Regulatory Authority and licensed safari operators to run the initiative. Officials say the project aims to expand income opportunities for local tour providers while making wildlife experiences more convenient for both residents and tourists.
For now, the service is exclusive to Nairobi National Park, the only protected wildlife area within a capital city’s limits, offering visitors the chance to spot lions, rhinos and giraffes against Nairobi’s skyline.
