UHURU RECLAIMS JUBILEE PARTY

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has officially reclaimed the Jubilee Party, tightening his grip on the outfit after a prolonged leadership dispute.

Uhuru’s comeback was sealed following a High Court ruling that reinstated the party’s May 2023 National Delegates Convention resolutions—affirming him as Party Leader and kicking out rebel officials led by Kanini Kega and Sabina Chege.

Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni unveiled a fresh lineup now gazetted by the Registrar of Political Parties:

Saitoti Torome – National Chairperson

Beatrice Gambo – Deputy Party Leader (Strategy)

Kudos Muiruri – Deputy Party Leader (Outreach)

Joseph Manje – Deputy Party Leader (Programmes)

David Murathe & Yassin Noor – Deputy Party Leaders

The announcement came during a major NEC shakeup that saw allies of the former ruling coalition expelled.

“We are reorganizing and revitalizing our structures ahead of 2027,” Kioni said.

The Registrar’s gazette notice, dated June 30, 2025, confirms the changes and cements Uhuru’s full control over the Jubilee Party machinery.

This marks a significant political rebound for Uhuru, positioning him to play a key role in shaping the 2027 elections — either as kingmaker or a direct challenger to President Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza.
