MICHELLE OBAMA ADDRESSES DIVORCE RUMOURS AMID PUBLIC SPECULATION

Former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama has publicly addressed swirling divorce rumours involving her and former President Barack Obama, after her absence from several recent high-profile events sparked widespread speculation online.
Speaking during a lighthearted segment on her podcast “Michelle Obama: In My Opinion” (IMO) — co-hosted with her brother Craig Robinson — Michelle dismissed the rumours with a mix of candor and humour. Introducing Barack as her guest, she called him “my man,” prompting Craig to jokingly ask, “Wait, you guys like each other?”
Barack responded with a laugh: “She took me back! It was touch and go for a while.”
Michelle, 60, addressed the chatter directly: “When people don’t see us together, they assume the worst. But there hasn’t been a single moment in our marriage where I’ve thought about quitting my man.”
She attributed her recent absences — including from events like the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter — to her personal decision to prioritize health, balance, and private time. “We are 60, y’all,” she said. “You don’t get to know every minute of our lives.”
Barack added that he wasn’t even aware of the rumors until others mentioned them. “I was like, what are they talking about?” he said.
The couple, who celebrated over 30 years of marriage, emphasized that public speculation often distorts reality. Their joint appearance put to rest weeks of social media conjecture and reinforced the enduring bond between them.
“We’re still here, still laughing, still loving,” Michelle concluded.
