Ugandan socialite and entrepreneur Zari Hassan has spoken out firmly in defense of her two children with Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz, following the singer’s recent controversial remarks about not being certain how many children he has — or if they are all biologically his.
Diamond’s statement, made during a public appearance, sent social media into a frenzy, with online debates quickly shifting focus to Zari and her children, Princess Tiffah and Prince Nillan. Many speculated on their paternity, prompting Zari to break her silence.
Speaking in a local media, Zari dismissed the rumors as baseless, insisting that Diamond is unquestionably the father of her children.
“He wasn’t talking about my kids. He has other children, but people pick on mine because they attract the most attention. If they spoke about others, they wouldn’t get the same traffic. My children are Diamond’s. If that wasn’t the case, I would have taken them to their real father,” she stated.
The mother of five said that if she had even the slightest doubt, she would never let her children travel without her — just to make sure no one could secretly carry out a DNA test.
Zari also addressed long-standing rumors about rekindling her relationship with her late ex-husband, businessman Ivan Ssemwanga, clarifying that their chapter ended permanently after their split.
“When I walk away, I don’t go back. Ssemwanga is not Tiffah or Nillan’s father,” she said.
Diamond Platnumz, celebrated as one of Africa’s elite musicians, finally settled down with his newfound wife, Zuchu - in a simple Islamic weeding - after a series of high-profile relationships with various female celebrities across East Africa.
